What an AI rank tracker measures
- Mentions: whether your brand is named in the answer.

- Position in the answer: where you're named relative to competitors.
- Share of voice: your mentions as a share of all brand mentions across the question set.
- Sources: which sites the engines cite instead of you, which shows where to get covered.
Why there's no fixed rank in AI search
A search results page lists the same links in the same order for hours or days. An AI answer is generated each time, so the same question can name different brands on two runs a minute apart. That's why trackers run each question repeatedly and across several engines, and report trends.
